Our History

Founded in 2011, Pulse Infoframe is a private, cloud-based health care analytics company that allows physicians in an outpatient or specialty clinic to easily capture, organize, model, store and share detailed administrative and medical data with patients and other health care stakeholders through a secure, web-based application.

In 2013 Pulse Infoframe was selected out of over 70 applicants to receive a spot at the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) at the University Science Center in Philadelphia, a place for promising, early-stage companies in the health-information technology sector. Funded by the Canadian Consulate General, the accelerator is a consortium that includes the University of Pennsylvania and other leading research institutes.

Furthermore, in 2014 Pulse Infoframe was one of six companies selected out of 69 applicants and awarded $50,000 from Digital Health Accelerator (DHA) in Philadelphia to go towards developing online, mobile and software solutions to healthcare problems.

Dr. Femida Gwadry-Sridhar

Dr. Femida Gwadry-Sridhar

CEO and Founder

Dr. Femida Gwadry‐Sridhar is the founder and chief executive officer of Pulse Infoframe. Dr. Gwadry-Sridhar is a pharmacist, epidemiologist and methodologist with over 25 years of experience in clinical trials, health analytics, clinical disease outcomes and registries .

Dr. Gwadry-Sridhar was awarded a career scientist award in 2006 from the Canadian Institute of Health Research and through her work founded the first knowledge translation health informatics lab in North America. She is a founding member of the special interest group in medical adherence at the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and outcomes measurement.

Dr. Gwadry-Sridhar has received over $10 million in peer reviewed funding and actively continues her professional interests in enabling technologies for better provider workflow and patient engagement. She holds her Ph.D. in research methodology and health economics from McMaster University.

Joseph Ternullo

Mr. Joseph Ternullo is the President of The Society for Participatory Medicine, senior advisor to Massachusetts Health Quality Partners and the Consulate General of Canada Boston office. Previously, Mr. Ternullo served as associate director of Partners HealthCare’s Center for Connected Health. He founded the Connected Health Symposium, a prominent two-day international annual event and co-founded Continua Health Alliance, a standards and interoperability organization now associated with HIMSS.

Mr. Ternullo has sat on several boards and on HHS’s American Health Information Community Chronic Care Workgroup and a US Commerce Department International Trade Advisory Committee. An attorney and certified public accountant, Mr. Ternullo holds degrees from Boston College, Bentley University, Boston University School of Law, and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Ra'ad Siraj

Ra'ad Siraj

Mr. Ra’ad Siraj has over 25 years of experience across multiple industries. He is the former head of data solutions at State Street Global Exchange where he established a smart data aggregation business. Earlier, he served as The Boston Company Asset Management’s chief technology officer and as Eaton Vance’s chief information officer.  Mr. Siraj was also vice president of operations for Sermo and vice president and chief information officer for Endeca, both high-growth, pre-IPO firms. Mr. Siraj serves on the board of overseers of The Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, as well as several startups. He serves as a juror for the Lemelson-MIT prizes for mid-career innovators, is currently a visiting fellow at Harvard’s Institute for Quantitative Social Science, and teaches machine learning for business intelligence at Boston College. He holds degrees in computer science from the University of California at Santa Barbara and Harvard University.

Erin McDermid

Ms. Erin McDermid serves as Pulse Infoframe’s Chief Legal Officer, responsible for regulatory compliance, managing risk, contractual negotiations and employment matters. She was previously a civil and commercial litigator with a large firm in London, Ontario who routinely represented corporations, shareholders, business owners and other stakeholders in disputes before all levels of courts and tribunals in the province of Ontario.

Ms. McDermid is a longstanding Board Member and Chair of the Governance Committee of a private independent school in London, Ontario and is actively involved as a volunteer with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of London and Area.  She holds her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor.

Roger Witteveen

Roger Witteveen

Mr. Roger Witteveen leads the Pulse Infoframe’s global finance and accounting operations from the company’s headquarters in London, Ontario.

Mr. Witteveen has over 25 years of experience in finance and technology building high performing teams from start-up operations to large public companies. Most recently, he held a senior finance position at Infinite Potential Management (Quantum Valley Investments) with overall financial responsibility for a large corporate group while advising technology start-up companies under management.  Prior to that, Mr. Witteveen held senior executive positions at BlackBerry with global responsibility for tax, treasury, e-commerce and payroll at a time of explosive business expansion (over 100x revenue growth).

Mr. Witteveen is a certified public accountant and chartered accountant who holds a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo, is an advisory board member and mentor at the University of Waterloo School of Accounting and Finance and has served on the CPA Industry Tax Committee.

Mr. Don Atkinson serves as Pulse Infoframe’s Vice President of Finance and brings his extensive financial management experience in industry and medical research to the team. Mr. Atkinson holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Ivey Business School at Western University.

Dr. Fuad Gwadry

Dr. Fuad Gwadry

Bioinformatics Lead

Dr. Fuad Gwadry is a mathematician with an eclectic and rich array of experiences that have kept him at the forefront of life sciences research applications and practical implementation throughout his career. International work in Hungary, the US and in Canada has taken Dr. Gwadry from the establishment of his career at NIH and NCI through varied academic and industry positions. During his entire career, Dr. Gwadry has ably applied his mathematical skills to the most cutting-edge problems of the day including the eras of gene expression profiling, microarrays and, most recently, trailblazing work in Next Generation Sequencing at The Center for Applied Genomics, Strand Scientific Intelligence, and the Sequenom Center for Molecular Medicine. During his career, Dr. Gwadry has worked in oncology, CNS disease, toxicology, prenatal diagnostics and more. His wide experience provides a diverse and interesting perspective that is always thought-provoking to his audience.

Naresh Singh

Mr. Naresh Singh is an experienced leader with 30+ years experience in healthcare IT and research who has direct experience implementing a region-wide electronic integrated patient record system. Previously, Mr. Singh worked as the Director of Research & Innovation at Robarts Clinical Trials where his team developed and deployed a solution that has become the industry standard in global clinical research projects. Mr. Singh was the 2015 winner of the London Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Award for Innovation. He serves as the Vice Chair Foundation Board, Victoria Order of Nurses (VON) Middlesex-Elgin. Mr. Singh received his BSc. Hons. from Western University and MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Tracy Gustafson

Over a span of 20 years, Tracy Gustafson has been delivering exceptional customer service and project management services. She began her career in Toronto, Ontario working with multinational public corporations running several accounting projects in a variety of industries. Upon moving to London, Ontario she focussed on small to midsize private corporations advising clients on a vast array of business and taxation issues. She started her own accounting practice which she grew exponentially over 5 years and subsequently merged with a large accounting firm.

Ms Gustafson discovered her passion for health care upon joining the Children’s Health Foundation of Southwestern Ontario where she was honoured to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors. This role granted her the privilege to acquire an in depth knowledge of the continuum of care for children in the region and across the country.

Ms Gustafson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western University, a Diploma of Accounting from Wilfred Laurier University and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Pulse Infoframe and unite her skills in customer service and project managment with her passion for health care.

Dr. Tamara Howard

Tamara specializes in helping organisation to define and implement strategies and solutions. Her experience ranges from set up/re-organize and stabilize operational business/client facing development, to implementing all stages of the resultant change programme.

Throughout her career as a manager, then senior director and finally, an independent consultant, Tamara has worked in the Hi-tech, Biotech/Life Sciences and Consulting Services industry for more 30 years. Tamara held a variety of roles, from independent consultant to Divisional Director at Capgemini UK Ltd where she was part of the management team for their Global Life Sciences Division.She also held national and European roles for IBM (UK) Ltd, Digital Equipment Corporation and The PA Consulting Group.  

Prior to her entry into the High Technology area, Tamara came to Europe (Germany) to help set up sales and distributors for Bethesda Research Laboratories Inc – an early US Biotech Company.

Her education includes an A.B from Harvard University and a PhD in Physiology from the Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences, at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts where she was also a post-doctoral research fellow.

Dr. Soodeh Nikan

Dr. Soodeh Nikan received her Ph.D. from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Windsor, in 2014. She is an experienced researcher with in depth knowledge in machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition and image processing. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at University of Western Ontario and Pulse Infoframe Inc. focused on ontology-based middleware services facilitating access to data sources.

PhD in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Teng has been working on the development of MRI contrast agent and medical image processing throughout her career. She’s particularly interested in the application of deep learning into the analysis of clinical data.

Mr. Ali Hamou is the Co-Founder at Pulse Infoframe. Mr. Hamou is a computer scientist and system software architect with particular skills in enterprise system integration. He has extensive experience in developing technologies that support clinical workflows, data visualization and analytical systems.

He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science at the University of Western Ontario, having completed his graduate work in computer science at Western University with a focus on medical imaging and modeling.
